    Sushi Kashiba is as close to a perfect Omakase experience that you can get. What I love about this place more than other places is that they are not afraid to use local fish where possible. Most fancy Omakase restaurants want you to believe that the best fish has to come from Japan but that's far from the truth. My favorite sushi course here is the Geoduck and honestly the Geoduck you get to experience here served by Chef Shiro Kashiba is probably the best in the entire country. I've had Geoduck at Michelin Star restaurants but it's never as good as when I have it here in Sushi Kashiba. If you want to get served Omakase by Chef Shiro Kashiba it's best to get to the restaurant at least 90 minutes before they open. If you get there 75-60 minutes before they open most likely you'll miss out on a spot in front of Kashiba but you'll still get a bar seating. Last I heard Chef Kashiba works Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. Trust me waiting 90 minutes to get a seat in front of him is more than worth it. There's not a lot of sushi chef's out there that have more sushi experience than Kashiba. Not only that but he's very friendly, knowledgeable, and will go into detail about the fish beings served.

    Came here at 5pm on Friday night and it was really busy. We didn't get to sit front of chef but a table with view. It's located right near pike place so parking can be pricey but it's not bad as SoCal. The area was really cute and the restaurant was clean and cute as well. We got omakase 150 dollar course plus plum wine and white wine and it paired well. Definitely worth trying if you are around the area for wonderful omakase

    Came here for a weekday dinner date in their adorable outside courtyard and it was a lovely meal with great service. We split a "Peak", their set menu of appetizer, salad, 12 pieces nigiri and 2 special rolls, miso soup, and a sweet tamagoyaki egg finale. The quality of the fish was fantastic. The fatty tuna, salmon, and mackerel (not normally a fish I like!) in particular were very tasty. I appreciated that they let a party of two split the set menu, as many places don't let you do that. We also ordered oysters on the half shell, served with shaved frozen ponzu vinegar ($26 for six). These were fresh, sweet, not too brine-y, with deep cups. The sauteed geoduck was very unlike any other geoduck I've had (which I *love*). It wasn't just tender, it was flavorful and melt-in-the-mouth and perfectly accompanied by asparagus and shiitake mushroom. My surprise favorite dish though was the tempura vegetables, which had a super light airy batter and was delicious with the green tea salt. I've had tempura before, and this was some of the best. The kitchen/waiter timed it so that the food came out evenly spaced. I never felt rushed, and everything came to the table at the perfect temperature. We loved sitting in the courtyard and enjoying the little hidden space.

    Did the omakase experience here and I loved it! It ended up being 14 pieces of nigiri plus some extras. We didn't sit at the bar but it was still great nonetheless. The service was great and the staff was very knowledgeable. Upscale vibes inside. This is everything we had: Salmon albacore blue fin tuna from Spain sashimi - albacore was my favorite of the bunch Seaweed konbu - I loved the konbu Strawberries - a nice contrast Toro handroll - very fresh and tasty Albacore - same albacore from earlier Blue fin tuna - same tuna from earlier, not my fave tuna Toro - delicious Sea bream - super flavorful Flounder - also very strong Tamago dobu in a dashi broth- broth was so good Salmon - yum! Sockeye salmon - probably most disappointing of the menu Sweet Shrimp - this was my favorite! Blue fin tuna - ok tuna Seared tuna- probably best seared I had, not typically a fan of seared Kanpachi - yummy Almost snapper - didn't catch exactly what this was but chewy Umi - very solid piece Scallop - ok for scallop Sushi donut eel - unique and delicious Tamago - one of the best I've had Miso soup - a great end to the meal
